Start of Bhagavatham

"Narayanam Namskruthyah Narancheyavah Narothamam
Devim Saraswathim Vyasam Thatoh Jayamuderayeth"

Parameshwara swaroopamina Sabhaku Namaskaramu (Respects to the all Invitees Equivalent to Lord Parameshwara )

Shounakadhi maharshulu performed Deerga Satrayagam (continous Satrayagam) in Naymikasharanyam. Rudhvikhs of Yagam are owners in yagam, that yagam is called Satrayagam. Why Naymikasharayanam, this place is gifted with the power of Sri MhahaVishnu and Shounakadhi Maharshis have decided to perform the yaga there. Sutah Maharshi has visited that place. Basically, when we see a koyila we feel that it should sing and when we see a peacock we would like that it should open its feathers and dance. Similarly when Sutah Maharshi is seen, then we should expect that Sutah Maharshi shall speak few words about GOD. Shounakadhi Maharshis asked Sutah Maharshi to preach about Bhagavatham. Sutah started preaching about Bhagavatham.
When one stick, is burnt in fire and smoke arises from it. We will be able to see all the 3, stick, fire, smoke. Fire is Sathvah Gunam. Smoke is Rajo gunam, stick is Thamoh Gunam. Life will rotate in these 3 gunas.

Story by RKParamahamsa: " There use to be a rich man and was passing through a forest. The theifs in the forest have identified this rich man and they attacked on him and stolen all the money which is there with him. He has fallen under a tree. One theif told that, know we have stolen all the money from him, so he might create some trouble for us, hence bring a big stone and we will kill him. Second theif told that, already we ahve stolen all his money, why we need to kill him?Let us tie his hands and legs. If he is fortunate he will escape, otherwise he will die on his own. why we should mingle here? Third theif did not speak  anything and all the three have left. Aftersometime the other two theifs were sleeping and the third thief who did not speak have come back and told that hey man, we have stolen your money and tied you here, but you are thirsty or hungry i dont know, let me free you. The man said that i am in fear and also i dont know how to move out of this forest and get into the village, and you are thiefs and will know the route to get into the village. The thief told that, ok give me your hand i will take you.The thief have taken him to the road where the village starts and told the man that got o your house, i have to leave know. But the man told the theif to come to his house and have a coffee. But the theif told that i cannot come and left into the forest".
Theif who wanted to kill the man --- Tamoh Gunam
Theif who wanted to Tie the man --- Rajoh Gunam
Theif who wanted to leave the man --- Sathvah Gunam
Sathvah Gunam will show the direction, but it will not take to the destination Tamoh Gunam will kill the Human Rajoh Gunam will tie the human in the family life. Sathvah Gunam is not stable so one should move from Satvah gunam to Shuddah Sathvah Gunam. More you practice Sathvah Gunam, the more you get habituated. One should not fall in the love of senses, the movement one is feeling, one should analyze it why i am falling in love with these senses? This continous practice will take you to Shuddah Satvah Gunam after some time and it will take you to devotional way of God, this devotional way is Bhakthi and because of the Bhakthi, God will be happy and give the knowledge of getting Kaivalyam.

"Gnana dethu Kaivalyam". So to get this Knowledge, one should move to the direction of  Bhakthi, to get this Bhakthi one should listen about the God and who speaks about the God? This is spoken in Bhagavatham. That’s why, Sutah says that God is fully filled in this world in the form of "Virat Roopam". How this is in Virat roopam? Virat roopam is in 16 arts if one is able to see. What are those 16 arts?
5 - Gnanendriyamulu (sense organs Eye, Ear, Nose, Tongue, Skin)
5 - Karmendriyamulu (Hands, Legs, Speech, Excretion, Reproduction)
1 – Manasu (Mind)
5 - PanchaBhoothamulu (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Sky)
(Prudhvi, apas, thejoh, vayah, akashamulu in Hindi) (Nela,Neeru, nippu, vayu,Ningi in Telugu)

One cannot invent these 16 and all these are inventions of the God and he is in all these  forms. So know God is everywhere. If you have sense organs in identifying the God then one will be able to see the God who is in the "Virat Roopam". This "Virat Roopam" is not discovered by the naked eye but discovered by Knowledge. If you see the earth with naked eye it will be like earth only but to see the earth as God one should have knowledge.
"The universe is created from the Panchabhuthas. For example, put a seed of neem, mango, lilly into the earth, and pour water, from earth heat will come and with the 3 combinations we get from neem seed a neem tree, lilly tree from lilly seed and Mango tree from Mango seed, but we do not get the lilly tree from the mango seed or mango tree from the neem seed. who is ordering this process, who is running this process. The one who is doing this process is the God. God is not seen by the naked eye. Is there any way to see the God by this Naked eye? Yes, If not identified by Knowledge then by naked eye he can be seen as in the form of " Earth as Pruthvi Lingam - in Kanchi", "Fire as Agni Lingam - Arunachalam",  "Air as Vayu Lingam - in Sree Kalahasthi".
Leave this, was there a way where God is seen with this naked eye and did the God has roamed on this earth with Hands and legs with a possiblity that see he is the GOD? Yes, God has roamed, whoever is listening to this, one is fullfilling his life as per Bhagavatham. Like when did God has come? If one can identify him, he has come in 22 forms to help this universe as said by Sutha Maharshi.Shownakadhi Maharshi asked a question to Sutah Maharshi with Happiness, can you explain how did he come in the 22 forms. Sutah maharshi, said that "Residing in the depth of the ocean, and knowing all about this universe being in the Yoga Nidra(deepsleep) being with Shanka,Chakra, Gadaha, Padmamulu in his hands, having Nabhi Kamalm (Navel) from which the evolution of Brahma happened that Sreeman Narayan will not be seen with the naked eyes of every one and only few will be given the option of seeing him in that format, those few are Yogis, who have won this sense organs, and performed thapasyah for several years". That is Narayana. From him only the entire universe came into the picture. From him only the Brahma who is spelling Vedas has evolved, and created the Universe as per his order. This is the first Avatar.

When writing Bhagavatham these formats of God were discussed by Vysah, as Vyasah is one of the form of God and as he has the knowledge of Past, Present and Feature, he is able to describe all the forms. All these forms, are not the only form to see him he can in this form because of the request to see him with the naked eye, and these 22 forms are primary forms and he has been arrived in uncountable forms. These 22 forms are discussed as these are the formats which helped to see him with the naked eye.

Vivekanada said:
Matrudevoh Bhava -- mother will take care of you, so in Mother God is seen
Pitrudevoh Bhava -- Father will fullfill your needs, so in Father God is seen
Athidhidevoh Bhava -- Vistor will come and have food and bless you, so in Visitor God is seen

He has taken one step further and said :

Deenadevoh Bhava -- see God in poor people, to say such word one should have "Virat roopa"
darshan. If one can see "Virat Roopa" darshan then one can see lord in all the world round.

Whatever the format the God takes, his aim is to help the universe, to preach Dharma, and ensure that Dharma is followed. Out of all the primary forms, "Krishnasthu Bhagavan swayam" thats why Bhagavatham has another name "Jaya". why it is caled Jaya because ussually before speaking about Bhagavatham one says
" Narayanam Namskruthyah Narancheyavah Narothamam
Devim Saraswathim Vyasam Thatoh Jayamuderayeth" -- In nara, narayan format God preaches about Dharma and Krishna avatar is the paripoorna Avatar, thats why we have "Krishnam Vande Gagat Gurum". Krishna being in Guru for the universe, has taught the Dharma. So sutha says to Shounakadh maharshi that, one example of Krishna will be quoted listen:
In olden days, after the completion of Kurukshethra, in the cottages near to the place of Kurukshetra, Pandavas and Upapandavas were sleeping in the night, Draupathi, Kunthi were sleeping. Kauravas were dead and Dhuryodhana has fallen and waiting for his death, in this time Ashwadhama got annoyed and angry by looking at  the situation of the Kauravas and he did one thing which is not supposed to be done, i.e., killing the upapandavas (sons of Pandavas). All the upapanadavas were tired in the war and were asleep in the cottage and Ashwaddhama entered silently that Cottage and cut their throats silently and went to Dhuryodhana and said I have a good news before your death, i have killed Upapandavas so know Pandavas does not family to be grown, this is the end of Pandavas Family. This is the gift which i am giving to you before your death. In the morning, Drupathi saw the situation by looking at the dead sons, and was crying like anything and Arjuna was able to indentify the person in the opposition and can do this, and Arjuna told the worst fellow who did this, I will bring the neck of that fellow and put at your feet and just hit that neck with your right leg or left leg and full-fill your revenge. Arjuna left along with Krishna and chasing the Ashwadhama(son of Drona). Ashwadhama started running and Arjuna was chasing him and Ashwadhma was fully feared by looking at the Arjuna, and finally Ashwadhadhama felt that even if world dies i should be alive (this characteristic should not be there for a brahmin) and he decided to drop a "Brahma Asthram" on Arjuna and the "Brahma Asthram" was peircing towards Arjuna and Arjuna by looking at "Brahma Asthram" turned towards Krishna and Krishna directed Arjuna to send another  "Brahma Asthram" and Arjuna followed it and sent. Know 2 "Brahma Asthram"'s are facing each other and the lokhas are started fearing and becaome unstable. Being the saviour of the universe, as the universe started shaking with these "Brahma Asthram"'s Krishna told to Arjuna, that Ashwadhama does not know how to take the "Brahma Asthram" back so Arjuna took back the 2 "Brahma Asthram"s. Arjuna did it and Ashwadhama was in fear and Arjuna has tied him to his vehicle like a "Tied Aniamal" and brought him to the war filed and Arjuna was looking like a Yama. Krishna told that "Arjuna kill this Ashwadhama even being a Brahmin or even being a son of your Guru he has cut the throats of Sleeping Upapandavas". But Arjuna did not follow this particular point even if said by Krishna. Understand the point carefully, even being told by Krishna Arjuna did not kill. Sutah is informing us this point, handle this carefully because Sutah is not just narrating a story, it is the moral of the Upanishad, Krishna told to send "Brahma Asthram", Arjuna did , withdraw 2 "Brahma Asthram"s Arjuna did, "Cut the thorat of Ashwadhama" Arjuna did not. Arjuna took him to the cottage of Draupathi. Draupathi has done her namaskar to Ashwadhdhama and said Ashwadhama your father is the Guru of my 5 Husbands and your father taught them the weapon handling and because of that pandavas were able to win this battle, "Atmavih Putranamasi" (father will be roaming on earth in the form of son)and you being the son of my Husbands Guru, so i am able to view Guru in you and i am performing Namaskar by looking at your feet as they resemble the Guru. That’s why, i will not say one word to you. Look at the Dharma followed by Draupathi. And said silently that, my sons did not come and attacked you with weapons in the war or they did not betray you any time atleast if they would have done you would have killed them, but they were sleeping the cottage wihtout holding any weapons and how did you get hands to kill the kids who are sleeping in the cottage in the night and killing the people who are in sleep in the night is against to the law of war and being a brahmin and son of such a great person you did not even follow the ethics of war and you did not remember of Dharma. So Draupathi is conveying that, even being in such a situation, i am thinking about Dharma but why Ashwadhama how did you get the hands to kill my sons? Draupathi, looked at the Arjuna and said, Krupi might know by this time about this news and she might be crying like anything about her situation of not saving her son. I am already in a position of Mother who have already lost my sons but your Gurupathni (Mother of Ashwadhama) will be still in a worster postion and she is not able to save her son and would be crying and pushing Gurupatni in that situation is not a right way to pay the respects to your Guru. So leave him Arjuna and do not kill him. This words were listened by Bheema and he got angry and said that how can we leave such a worst person, if you do not want to kill, i will kill him with my hand by giving a strong punches on his head. Krishna said to Arjuna, i will tell one word, "You have taken a oath to kill the person who has done this and this Ashwadhama is a Athathayee (Athathayee means a person who burns the house, who gives the poison, who kills people without following any laws and rules) so you can kill him but he is a Brahmin and as per veda killing a Brahmin is not acceptable. As vedas are evolved from sounds of God and here God is none other than Krshna but Krishna is only telling to Kill Ashwadhdama". So take your decision Arjuna. Look at the confusing Situation what Arjuna is facing. "Krishna only told to kill Ashwaddhama and Krishna only told to forgive a Brahmin". But what Arjuna did is, "Killed Ashwdhama but also left him" means he has completely shaved the head of Ashwadhanama. For a Brahmin, atelast a small amount of Hair should their but should not be shaved completely, if so he is equivalent to a dead. So Arjuna made Ashwadhama an equivalent to a dead person but Arjuna left him alive. This way Arjuna, has kept his Dharmah and followed the Dharmah. Krishna was very happy internally since Krishna has taught Dharma to Arjuna and this situation was like a test for Arjuna and felt wether Arjuna will follow Dharma or not? And Arjuna, has fullfilled his Dharma and passed in the test.
This story was told by Sutah to Shounakadhi Maharshis and said this is what Krishna Means. As Arjuna was knowing about Dharmas, and Arjuna followed Dharama thats why Krishna was always beside him. "Dharmoh Rakshithi Rakshithahaa" means save Dharma and Dharma will save you. Saving Dharma is by implementng the Dharma. As God is the form of Dharma. If you do not follow the Dharma then you are not following the God.
Ashwadhama thought that, he has killed all the upapandavas, but by looking at the Dharma of Arjuna, Draupathi, Krishna felt to save and ulift the family of Pandavas. So how did Krishna has saved the Generation of Pandavas. This is told immediately by Sutah to Shounakadhi Maharshis, how Krishna has saved the Generation of Pandavas. After listening to this episode why one will not get the belief of God? this is what Bhagavatham is and all such valuable information is present in it and one should have done lot of good work over the years to get an opportunity to get this knowledge.
"Pandavas have taken the bodies of Upapandavas and performed the funerals and the respective riutals and took bath in the river and came back to the cottage and all were in lot of sorrow and depression just by remembering the dead upapandavas. Krishna said

"Kalohi Balawan Kartha
Sathatham Sukah Dukahayohoo
Narahnam Parathanthranam
Punyah Papanah Yogatahaa"

Time is the form of God and the happy and unhappy situation are given by the God and one cannot do anything in that situation(parathantra) and this are according to him.
After stating this Krishna made the Pandavas family in a upashanthi state and Krishna was about to go to his place and was getting into the Vehicle. At that time, Uttarah wife of Abhimanyu came crying towards the Vehicle of Krishna and fallen on the feet of Krishna. As Uttrah was carrying, and she was taking an unkowing pain which cannot be seen outside, she was feeling inside her womb that an arrow is coming towards her with revenge and was about kill the growing baby inside her womb. Uttarah dont want to loose her baby and she was pleading Krishna to save her baby. Immediately, all the pandavas have taken their weapons but they could not see the enemy. Where is the enemy? The enemy is in the form of Arrow that is chasing her baby residing in the womb. Uttrah was unable to take that pain. Uttrah, knows the ability of Pandavas, but she has pleaded Krishna only why? because the only person who can save is God and even having lot of wealth, army or anything. So start  learning that the God can only save from anytype of Situation and start devlopeing the relation with him.
"The generation of family is in the hands of Daughter-in-law and she should have a good thought process about the God and she should be able to continue the spirit of God. This should be taken as the criteria to select a Daughter-in-law not anything else. She should have the abilty to plead the God for saving the family. Thats is the reason Uttrah has pleaded Krishna to save her baby.

Krishna, has visualised the situation and the feeling of pain from arrow is because of the Ashwadhama's "Brahma Asthram" as still he had revenge in mind to kill the last person in the womb of Uttrah and Krishna has become a small thumb and went inside the womb of Uttrah and he was standing there in the form of Lord Vishnu holding the Shanku, Chakrah, Gadha, Padma and was in silk dress and the complete size of him is equal to the size of Thumb finger. Krishna stood just before the baby inside the womb and was rotating his Gadha in style. This situation was felt by only the baby residing in the womb of Uttrah not the pandanvas or anyone. Krishna stopped that arrow and put inside him and was looking at the baby and that baby was saved  nd immediately came out of the womb.

After explaining this situation, Sutah told that, this situation looks crazy? how did this can happen. Brahmah was the derivation of Narayana,so abosrbing the "Brahma Asthram" is very easy for him thats why he took the "Brahma Asthram" inside and left. Krishna has done this. But will Pandavas be able to do the same thing? Know correlate the complete story.

When Krishna told Arjuna to kill Ashwadhama and if Arjuna would have killed Ashwadhama then definitely Arjuna would not have understood what is Dharma and it would have been a wastage to teach the 18 adhyamas of Gita and no need to save the baby in the Uttrahs womb. But Arjuna has left Ashwadhama, as Ashwaddhama is the son of his Guru and it is not Dharma to kill the Ashwdhama and Arjuna has followed the Dharma even being in such a hard situation. As Arjuna and Draupati have followed the Dharma, and they saved the Dharma so it is the duty of the God to save the baby in the Uttarah's womb and Krishna saved the baby in a way where no-one can the baby. Such a way Krishna saves if followed Dharma.
One following the Dharma will always be saved by God and becasue of getting the tongue to spell Krishna, one will be driven in the path of Bhakthi, if followed the Dharma, one will be saved. And there exists no question that will God save? Defnitely God will, as this is one of the demonstration of Saving the Dharma and being saved by Dharma.
The Generation of Pandavas family was saved by Krishna and the stotram done by Kunthi is beautiful which expresses her Gratitude is as follows in Next Page.
